All Over Australia - A Story from Kim McMaster in Sydney, NSW.
From Kim McMaster from Sydney. - Holidaying with your Dog
    From: Kim McMaster

Hi there my name is Kim McMaster and I have a short but sweet holiday tale. Its about holidaying with your four legged friend.

My partner and I are travel buffs - whether it be a full scale four week adventure of just a weekend away. We have been overseas and loved it, but find Australia has a lot of great little hidden spots - and so many are close to home.

So when I got my Old English Sheepdog, I realised that even an overnight affair would require her to be boarded which isnt cheap, and well she is part of the family and was missed! We bought a great book called "Holidaying with Dogs" published by Life be in it and I wanted to recommend it to anybody who like me wants to take the dog along sometimes. Well on the weekend we just went down to Wisemans Ferry (which was about 50 minutes drive from us here in Sydney NSW) and went to Ko-Veda Holiday Park. For a measly $40 we got a great clean Cabin which lots of room for the dog, a reception as if we had known the owner for years and a great weekend away. Situated by the river, we all jumped in for a swim as soon as we got there, and watched all the waterskiers. To dry off, a walk around the place was great fun and the big parks were ideal for a game of soccer and to run the dog around.

At night, the waterfront area was all lit up by little lights and was magical to sit there and fish by our own little light and drink away! For a cheap weekend I was totally amazed by how nice it was (even the drive is great!) and what a great time we had.

We plan to check out some of the other places in the book later, but for now I think we have a a regular weekend thing happening!! camping is also available at just $13.50. My dog has never slept so well in her whole life!

We welcome your comments, advice, suggestions, recommendations and even your horror stories. Every story in Travellers Tales has been carefully checked. There are, as far as we can determine, no attempts at free publicity from proprietors masquerading as happy travelers.

If you have a tale to tell send us an email and we'll let others know about your experiences.
